One time when I was in the airport, waiting at the gate for the plane that would take me back to Texas, I felt the Holy Spirit very distinctly tell me to talk to the young girl sitting across from me. Upon hearing this, I faced the usual internal conflict of anxiety vs. wanting to obey. I finally told the Holy Spirit that I would NOT -that’s right- would not talk to her because of reasons A, B, and C.
Guilty was all I felt as I boarded.
I then told the Holy Spirit that I would talk to her if she sat next to me on the plane. After sitting down and settling in, SHE comes strolling down the isle. Guess who she sat down next to… me. It felt like I had been check-mated by the Holy Spirit, so I obeyed, and found myself in one of the most memorable conversations of Jesus I have ever had.
